Student Recital

They did it!! Yes this is what lessons are all about. This year we had some of the best students ever. As you can see by their awards- they did very well. This year saw a record number of students play a wide variety of musical pieces. Instructor Kenneth Beyer was highly impressed. 21 students participated and the ages were 6 to 16. A wide variety of pieces were performed including the Bach Two Part Inventions, Schumann's Scenes from Childhood, and Fur Elise. It just so happened that one student(Selena West) played "Will You Be There?" by Michael Jackson from Free Willy Theme. It was exactly one year since MJ's death( see our blog for a songlist).

Students were truly "grace under pressure". Yet Beyer Music has always espoused the participative or " interactive" recital. It is an education. Instructor/owner Ken Beyer constantly gives ad lib constructive comments. All in all this is helpful both to the students and audience alike. Recitals like this epitomize the philosophy of Van Cliburn. The philosophy that everyone is participating in a musical event and everyone is musical. Beyer Music feels that even in tough times like this that people can participate and continue to fuel their love of music. Students will accomplish things they never expected in their lives.

Beyer Music takes students all year round except for a short Summer reprieve. Classical as well as modern music is emphasized. Computer technology is implemented. Lessons are reasonable. Students start with 1/2 hour increments.
